South American Country PPT

South American Country Power Point

Each group will create a power point presentation that will contain the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum (15 slides)
  • Table of contents with hyperlinks to each page
  • Background color or picture
  • 1 picture per slide
  • Minimum 3 bullets per slide
  • Slide transitions
  • Custom animation
  • Text that is properly sized and can be easily read
  • No spelling or grammar mistakes

Only the most important information should be included, as you will have a limited time to present your country. Each group will present on their topic. You will have to submit your entire power point for a grade, but your presentation will focus in on an area where you have the most interest.

Presentations will be a maximum of 10 minutes. Each partner will have to fill at least five minutes. The class will be expected to take notes during your presentation, so you will have to calculate how long it will take for them to write down what you are giving them.

South America Country Project

South America

Country Research Project

The first part of this mini-project will require you to research a South American country. You will be required to take notes with your shoulder partner on the following topics. Each page should contain bulleted notes and a large title. You should not copy notes word for word, but rather shorten them up and put them into your own words.

You will use two websites to find your information, CultureGrams and Grolier. I have indicated which resource is best for each page of notes that you will have to take.

You will have to summarize the notes that you took in your notebooks into the most important 3-4 pieces of information that you want to share with the class.

You will only have Three Days to complete the research portion of this project. This means you will have to finish at least 5 pages of notes per day in order to finish. If you need to work on this from home, the password and user name for both websites are “Sarasota.”

Central America Statistics

Today we are going to build an Excel Spreadsheet. If you have never worked with this program before, you will find that spreadsheets are a convenient way to organize your data. Your task is to research information and statistics on the countries that make up Central America and compare them to the United States.

Your first job is to download the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet template that I have created for you. You can access it by clicking HERE

You will have to go to the Culture Grams website. The link is located on the right side of the website. Once you click there you will have to click on the World Edition tab. From there, click on North America. This will bring up all the countries we will be researching.

Next you will have to find the information to fill in the cells. You will be able to find the statistics by Clicking HERE.

Once you have filled in all the information on your spreadsheet, you will need to answer the following questions: CLICK HERE

Good luck! If you have any questions, please post them below.
